Goodbye, Show
Just finished watching the last episode of Friday Night Lights :( I'm really going to miss you, show. You wormed your way into my heart and never let go. And now, it's over.

30 Days of TV: Day Two
Since I'm far too lazy to link back to all the posts, I made a tag! So click the 30 Days tag for prior entries.

Day 02 - A show that you wish more people were watching: Friday Night Lights

How I love this show! And it's yet another show I started watching due to Grey's Anatomy (the first one was SPN) The episode with Pink Mist Guy, who turned out to be Kyle Chandler, the star of FNL. I liked him enough that I decided to give FNL a look, even though I thought the show was just about football and teenagers. I really am not overly fond of teen shows. Boy, was I wrong! This is one of the best 'little' shows on TV. Set in a small town in TX, the show is actually filmed outside Austin, so it has a sense or 'real' to it you just don't get in a Hollywood posing as another place filmed show. I love the characters - even the teens! - the relationships, the real love these actors obviously have for their characters and their show. Sadly, it's most likely the next season will be the last. It was canceled once, but DirectTV made a deal with NBC - shorter season, they put up money, and it only airs on their satellite network. After it airs there, it is shown on NBC. They have already filmed the upcoming season, and the current one just started its network run. But despite its critical acclaim, and devoted fanbase, just not enough people watch. I'm going to be very sad when I can no longer visit Dillon, Texas every week.

TV Randomness and IM II
We've been slamming trying to catch up with TV we've missed. Season enders of Chuck, Burn Notice, and Psych were great - especially Chuck! So much squee at Casa de NinIth.

Have given up on American Idol - a cross between not enough time and just generally bleah contestants. Might check back in later.

Still need to catch up on Amazing Race, House, Make It Or Break It, Supernatural, How I Met Your Mother, Merlin, Friday Night Lights, and 24.

Woot had the entire series of Miami Vice for $35 this week. YES! I've been wanting to own that one a lot. And Nin's only seen a few eps, so I can share it with her.

Now for the Iron Man II trailer - was it not awesome? I can't wait! I've come to accept that I'm not going to get to even start on the sequel to Practical Applications before it comes out, so while I still plan for it to take place between the two movies, I guess I'll have to look at the bright side and see it as inspiration for the voices. Nin and I were talking about how what we've seen in the trailers so far will impact Charlotte and Tony's friendship. But I guess I shouldn't mention it here without spoilers, in case there are those of you avoiding the trailers.

Tags & Stuff
Yesterday's project was redoing my fic tags, and LJ does not make it easy to do bulk tag changing. They need a merge function! And I need to remember to read over my tags more often, because I come across ones I forgot I used before, so end up with several tags for pretty much the same subject.

We were up past 3am watching RotK, and I went to sleep all stuffed up from crying. you'd think as many times as I've read the books and seen the movies, the end wouldn't still turn me into a weeping puddle. But it does.

Waiting for Nin to get up so we can decide what we're doing today. I'm thinking building shelves, giving the dog a much needed bath, and weedwhaking my back patio area. Hopefully, in the early part of the evening we can take the bikes out for a spin.

Must do a TV post soonish. Realized I haven't talked about Chuck and Friday Night Lights, both of which were great.

Oh, and speaking of TV, see my new default icon of Adam Cartwright? It was made for me by the very sweet and talented [livejournal.com profile] bookaddict43. She made me four, and they're all awesome! Thank you!

FNL Question
So, my DVR ate the end of an episode, and may have eaten a whole one at some point, because I never saw any sort of resolution of this... )

Overall, a very enjoyable season. I'm glad it got renewed, even if it's one of those odd DirecTV deals.

DVR Catch Up
I decided to work on the backlog of Friday Night Lights I had on the DVR today. I'm not sure I'll make it through all of them, but I've made a decent start.

I've been a zombie all day. Allergies are hellacious right now, and not even Singulair and Benadryl are dealing with the misery. I'm beginning to think I'll never stop sneezing!
