Melancholy
Listening to Silly Wizard and it makes me sad. Still so saddened by the death of Andy M. Stewart. Such amazing music, so much joy.

Exquisite
Many, many years ago, I was at a Scottish country dance weekend at Asilomar, and Alasdair Fraser and his wife were there as dancers as well. After a long Saturday of classes, was the ball, and after the ball, food! By around 2am, you're past exhaustion and keep telling yourself you need to get to bed since class starts early the next morning. There's only about two dozen of you left in the room, the diehards. Then, Alasdair pulls out his fiddle and starts to play. Words can not describe the sheer beauty of it all.

If you'd like a taste.... )

They Taunt Me
This year, Robert Burns' 250 birthday, is Homecoming Scotland year, and they keep sending me these taunting emails. God, how I wish I could go!! I'm fortunate that I've been to Scotland three times in my life, but on those trips, I didn't know where my grandmother hailed from (she dies when my mum was two). I finally discovered that information few years back (It's Aberdeen, and that's one of the places I haven't been to.) Well, maybe if I have a job soonish, I could make it for Hogmanay :) That's my dream trip anyways!

And here are some wonderful photos courtesy of National Geographic. More taunting!
