We finally saw this and....
I cried like a baby through a lot of it. Can't say I was happy about some of it, but in the end, I thought it was true to the show as it's been presented over the last however many seasons. And I had actually wondered if the mother was dead, and that was why Ted was telling this long story to his kids. Loved that Barney has a daughter. Poor thing won't have a date till she's 30. Like that Robin had dogs again! I missed those dogs from first season.
