Yea for more Viggo! Pretty ironic that he could be int he next set of movies when he was a replacement in the first place. Life is funny sometimes.

Okay... it's been a long time since I read The Hobbit, but... for the life of me I cannot remember how the hell Aragorn would figure in The Hobbit.

Are they completely delusional, or do I need a refresher-reading?

No complaints here if they can find a sane, logical reason to include him in the plot, but... where? When? How?

I wonder if they're going to use him instead of Bard. That would almost make sense, given that he's a terribly important character who (in classic Tolkien fashion) really kind of pops out of nowhere in the book. I can see replacing him with Aragorn working decently well... saves people from trying to figure out who this guy is and how he fits into the picture, while extending the existing mythos of Aragorn's travels as a Ranger before he became king...

The second movie is actually going to be a bridge movie between the Hobbit and LotR, dealing with driving 'The Necromancer' out of Mirkwood. I only found that out a few months back :)

Yay for Viggo - I don;t care how but I'm happy to see them include him as a connection to the trilogy! Now if they can just figure out a way to bring Boromir back...
