Weird Disconnect

I always think I watch too much TV, but then I'm watching the Emmy's, and I have no klew who these people or these shows are. The opening number for example [shrugs] Didn't get the pink stuff, or the woman in the track suit. Did know who Tim Gunn was. So that was one thing. And then...
Neil Patrick Harris was ROBBED!!!!!!!!!!!! What the heck is Modern Family and who is the guy who won? Gah!

I know what you mean... I have a vague awareness of who some of these people are because of commercials, but watching this, I realized that I've been watching more British TV than American. Hamlet was probably the only thing on there that I was really familiar with.

And yeah, I've never heard of "Modern Family," either.

I didn't watch the Emmy's, but I'd guess the "woman in the track suit" was from Glee which I haven't watched.

Modern Family was my favorite new series of the 2009-2010 season. It's a half hour family sitcom on ABC. I was pissed by the Emmy's nominating most of the cast, but not Ed O'Neill. He's the patriarch of the whole extended family on the show. I'm afraid to ask whether it was Eric Stonestreet that won or Ty Burrell. If Ty won I'll be crushed.

It was Stonestreet who won.

And, yep, the tracksuit was about Jane Lynch's character on Glee. Never could get into the show, but I love JL and know that much about it.

Couldn't begin to guess on "the pink stuff" without more detail.

Yay! Er, sorry, Ith. Eric plays may favorite character on Modern Family.

Never could get into the show, but I love JL and know that much about it.

*Nods.* My dad loves JL, but we haven't even given the show a try. It's probably on opposite something else we really like. I may give it a try if they actually give John Barrowman a part some time, but...

Didn't watch, because I find the Emmys to be as much about recognizing excellence in television as the Oscars are to film, but I believe Modern Family is on ABC. I have a few fans on my FL. Never had an inclination to watch it, though.

*Having looked up a full list of the winners.* Jim Parsons won Outstanding Actor In A Comedy for The Big Bang Theory.

The show also overwhelmingly took the Best Comedy category, with 43% of the vote. Community (which has got to be the most UNFUNNY comedy I don't even understand why I'm still watching) came in a distant second, with 15%.

I knew 'Nurse Jackie', 'Lost', and '24' and maybe 1-2 more. other than that, I didn't have a clue. I didn't see any of the movies as I don't get HBO. The shows I do watch weren't nominated. I'm not going to loose sleep over it for sure.

Neil Patrick Harris was ROBBED!

NPH did pick up an Emmy for his guest appearance on Glee at the show? He didn't go home Emmy-less.

I didn't even know the Emmy happened, heh.
