!!! Tom Hiddleston Wins Anglo Fan Favorites, Named Man of 2012 !!!

I actually voted in the silly thing [grins sheepishly]

After five rounds and well over one million total votes, Tom Hiddleston has won the second annual Anglo Fan Favorites tournament. Buoyed by the strength of the self-proclaimed Hiddles Army, the Avengers star triumphed over runner-up Benedict Cumberbatch, 57 to 43 percent.

Cumberbatch’s Sherlock co-star Martin Freeman defeated Merlin‘s Colin Morgan for bronze, 54 to 46 percent.

This year Benny was mainly the BBC Sherlock to people. Next year he's got the next Star Trek movie and The Hobbit. :D

Yeah, the whole "Is he or isn't he playing Khan?" thing is getting old. I want the movie already!

Course, as much as I trust Benny will be a great Smaug, I don't trust Peter Jackson to visually do Smaug justice. I'm more interested in seeing the Smaug build than hearing for certain who Benny's character in the next Star Trek film is.

It was tough. Funniest thing to me was, in the last round, I had a harder time picking between Martin and Colin than I did Benny and Hiddleston. I voted Benny all the way, but I may have split my votes between Martin and Colin. x_x

I actually voted for a couple of rounds in this competition. At one point they had Neil Gaiman V Stephen Fry - and then they had Neil Gaiman V Alan Rickman!

It was then I gave up, my nerves couldn't take it :-P

Heh. I voted for Neil over Fry, but Alan over Neil. Why yes I did stick with it right to the bitter end, even if it did involve a lot of tough choices. Now I'm practicing, what I learned long ago as a Boston Red Sox fan, repeating the mantra, "Next year!" :D
