They haven't posted since 2006, but I clicked on the comments of the last entry they made, and it was someone who thought she was me! Gave me a giggle [g]
Damn the LOTR movies! No one on earth used Ithildin till they came out. (mostly kidding)
Apparently, the person has to actually delete their LJ. And since most people just stop using it, there's probably thousands of what would be available names out there.
I just read their rationale for not deleting any accounts. I wish I could contact this person and ask him/her to let my name go, already. It's a pain, because people not infrequently refer to me as unovis.
In retrospect, I wished I'd waited a few hours before deciding in ithidrial. But I didn't want to use ithildin and a number and I couldn't think of any way to use it with something else. and I seriously never thought I'd be using LJ the way I ended up doing.
Maybe I should hold a contest. Or I'll just be ithidrial on LJ forever [g]
there are some really sucky names there. Oh well. I think one problem is that some people never post, but they did get an LJ so they can comment on other people's LJ. Which I've told people to do before. So it wouldn't be fair to then delete their LJ.

It's pretty damn obvious when there was one or two posts on a list or lj back in 2005 or years past that, there's no activity and it's wasted space.
Delete it.
