Me Too
So here's my take on the DW finale...
First Martha, then Donna! No more getting attached to companions for me. And I think it was a rathwer crap way of treating Donna at that. At least Martha got a life after the Doctor.
We watched with our house guests, and there was a simultaneous groan from the three women in the room when Bad Wolf Bay flashed up, and even louder groans as the scene unfolded. But hopefully this means we're done with Rose. Or at least done with the Doctor pining over Rose. One can only hope.
There was also a group reaction to the Doctor continuing to angst over the destruction of the Daleks. Enough already!!!
I knew they were going to 'cheat' with the regeneration.
I think I liked last week's better.

I loved Martha but forgave her leaving the Tardis because they at least kept her in the whoverse and nor she's going to be on Torchwood. Then I fell in love with Donna (she may be my favorite companion ever) and they F@$ked her over - I am still screaming NO!!!! I'm just pissed.
As much as I loved seeing the whole whoverse in one place the demise of Donna was unforgivable.
*Sighs* - maybe the new show runners can undo Donna's brain freeze.
Oh I guess it obvious but I did finally get a download - from a different source that had it in two pieces

The whole idea that Daleks will be "just a story" to Donna is also daft. Even if that worked, how will they explain her months of absence? She can't just drop into the Chsiwick gossipsphere without making a few "oi! where you bin?" ripples.

I was never crazy about Rose either. And yes, Donna got the shaft bigtime.
At least we know who is replacing Owen and Tosh on TorchWood next season. I don't particularily care for the guy.
I liked last week better too.

*Hugs.* I fell head over heels for Jack in New Who's first season, and I still love Nine more than Ten. With "The Parting of the Ways" Rusty used up all three of his, "Three strikes and I'm out" as far as my letting myself get attached to characters in New Who, and he used two of them on Jack alone. Strike one was killing Jack, strike two was abandoning Jack, and strike three was killing off Nine. I do my best to keep my distance now, except for being unable to resist Jack and things from Classic Who.

In the end I actually think he no longer loved Rose. Donna showed him what a true friend, companion was and he was more hurt over her loss then anything.
That while he was happy to see Rose he was glad for 10.2 because, that gave him an out. He moved on, which is what he does.
Now, to figure a way for Donna to come back, with memories, as a human, not TimeLord hybrid, without burning up. If the found a way around Rose, why not this.

I did like the realisation that the Doctor makes his Companions and friends into soldiers - very nice acting on DT's part!
