Dr. Who Wishes

My wish list for the next season (3 or 29 depending on your POV):

1) Ramp back on the shippiness, for the love of god!

2) The Master! Please, oh pretty please! (And who should be cast? Thoughts?)

3) No pining! For Rose or for the Fjords

4) Meeting up with an old Companion, say like, Nyssa!

5) More of the inside of the TARDIS. And does that bell still toll when "doom" approaches?

The Master! Please, oh pretty please! (And who should be cast? Thoughts?)

If Tony Head hadn't already appeared I would have said him.

They seems to like recycling actors, so i don't see why he couldn't do it.

If I can't have Peter Wingfield as a Doctor, then I think he'd make a fine Master.

*hits head*

Of course! How silly of me....and that would be a nice counterpoint the current doctor, with both of them looking fairly young and gorgeous to boot.

Ooh yes, OW could do the Master justice.

1) Ramp back on the shippiness, for the love of god!

Word. Big time - WORD.

2) The Master! Please, oh pretty please! (And who should be cast? Thoughts?)

Tom Baker wants to be asked. But ... that'd be kinda weird. I have no doubt he could be terribly wicked .... And I don't see why Tony Head couldn't be the Master. I'm still of the opinion that guy was the Master. He wasn't destroyed or affected by the goo, ASH said as much in the Confidential for "School Reunion". Tony Head For Master!

3) No pining! For Rose or for the Fjords

SEE: Answer to number 1.

4) Meeting up with an old Companion, say like, Nyssa!

Nyssa would be interesting, considering she and the Doctor have the whole no planet/no people bit in common now.

5) More of the inside of the TARDIS. And does that bell still toll when "doom" approaches?

With an episode titled "Doomsday", you'd think that sucker would've been tolling like there was no tomorrow. Then, they would've had to explain that and some might've been, "Well, that's pretty stupid."

As 'Doomsday' as it was supposed to be, it didn't get as intense as Castrovalva did for me -- which was when the bell went off if I remember correctly. Though it's been well over a decade now since I've seen classic Who.

Maybe it only tolls for the Doctor's peril? The bell was probably, "Rose? Ah, who cares. I'm not ringing for her."

ROTFL! I think the bell was pining for the Fjords...

As much as I've never been into any sort of Doctor shippiness, if I had to pick a Companion to pair him with, it would be Nyssa.

Yeah, Tom Baker would be kind of odd in that role.

I multi-ship like a whore. Certain incarnations and certain companions. Because I'm a whore. But if the series became ONLY about 'ships ... BLECH. Leave the 'shipping to the professionals - the fan ficcers.

You know who'd be even weirder? Peter Davison.

I'm just not much of a shipper in general.

I haven't seen PD in years. Wonder what he looks like now? Paul Darrow might be a possibility, but he hasn't aged all that well. But he has the voice for it, that's for sure.

[identity profile] donna-c-punk.livejournal.com 2006-07-16 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not a person who bases everything on 'ships. I definitely don't want to give off that vibe. I generally can't stand it when romance works it's way into a series that historically didn't center on it. This goes beyond DW. Outside of the actual series, I might find dynamics I like in different ways.

PD actually looks really good. He's in the Confidentials for the Ninth and Tenth Doctors. He's put on a little weight and his voice is a bit gravelly - I wonder if he didn't take up smoking or something - otherwise, he looks good.

No, you don't give off that vibe at all :)

Amen!

1) Ramp back on the shippiness, for the love of god!

Weirdly enough, the whole shippiness thing attached to the Doctor Who leaves me a bit puzzled. It's not that I don't 'do' the shippy thing, I just don't tend to go looking for it in Dr Who!

2) The Master! Please, oh pretty please! (And who should be cast? Thoughts?)

i agree with those above, Anthony Steward Head would have been so good in this part!

3) No pining! For Rose or for the Fjords

I think Rose got a better send off than most companions so I won't be pining for her (companions never last, so I was never looking for a happy-ever-after)

4) Meeting up with an old Companion, say like, Nyssa!

Having already got my Sarah Jane fix, I don't really have an opinion on this!

5) More of the inside of the TARDIS. And does that bell still toll when "doom" approaches?

And are the wardrobes stil intact? LOL

P.S. Did you guys get to see the glimpse of the Christmas Special at the end...if not, I'll keep my squeeing to myself, otherwise... (grins)

1) Ramp back on the shippiness, for the love of god!

Could not agree more.

2) The Master! Please, oh pretty please! (And who should be cast? Thoughts?)

My word yes please :) I agree Tony Head would have been great as this but see no reason why he still couldn't do it (as evidenced by new companion)

3) No pining! For Rose or for the Fjords

Why the Fjords? do not understand? As for Rose well companions never lasted "forever" before and it would not be the same show if they did!

4) Meeting up with an old Companion, say like, Nyssa!

Hmm had Sarah Jane but never too fond of Nyssa, I grew up with Ace and have always liked Peri

5) More of the inside of the TARDIS. And does that bell still toll when "doom" approaches?

Oh yes please, wonder what the bell as doing during the time war?
