Grateful

I am extremely grateful for the fact I have a family I get along with. Especially this time of year. Granted, my father and I don't have a great relationship, but it's manageable. He realized a long time ago that I have no interest in his opinion, so he doesn't offer it anymore. But my mum is great, and now my brother and I are adults, we have a pretty good relationship. All my grandparents are long dead, and any remaining extended family is in Canada and England and I haven't seen any of them in years. So I guess I'm blessed with a very mellow family situation all things considered.

And then I have ninjababe! In the 12 years we've been together, I don't think we've ever had a real fight, we've had a few tiffs and inadvertently hurt each others' feelings, but no fights [knocks wood] She is a true blessing in my life.

And in another month, when I'm living with my family again, I'll come back and read this post when my father is getting on my very last nerve and Nin's telling me to take a deep breath!

Of course, my daughther's husband had to go home and tell her his mother-in-law was annoyed with him this morning *g*. Hee, we all have family problems.
