Rain

Rain is absolutely heavenly. The cool breeze, the scent, the oppressiveness lifting.

Pie is in the oven, and I remembered why I really don't like making pie. Hopefully it'll at least taste good. The pastry came out wonderfully, if I do say so myself.

Is it the crust issues, the mess? Those are the struggles that I have with making pie. But pie and rain....mmmmmm!

I make great crust, I just hate putting it all together. And the mess :)

Glad to know it. I made better crust 20 years ago than I do, now. But we agree about the mess. :-P

Hmm, our pies are different than yours I think. Here's one recipe (http://www.recipezaar.com/Bosnian-Pita-phyllo-pie-with-Spinach-Filling-11270), and here's the Wikipedia entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burek).

We had rain yesterday, followed by deafening thunderstorm. Freaked the hell out of me, though the rain was a welcome change after several scorching hot days. Just had another one five minutes ago.
