Creepy Crawly

I'm making macaroni and cheese tonight, so after I popped it in the oven, I went outside to pick more pounds of apricots. We have a real ant problem here; they're everywhere. So I'm outside picking fruit, feel crawly and look down to see my feet covered in ants. Bleah! I'm inside now with not an ant in sight, but I still feel like I have ants running up my legs! I don't mind ants, but really prefer them to not be on me in great numbers!

Yuck.
I feel for you, really I do. (no really now I'm getting that creepy crawly feeling)

I learned this trick from my Orkin man in Florida it was for dealing with roaches, but I found it worked with ants, too. Mix Boric acid with a bait food. I used crackers for roaches and sugar for ants. Put it along an ant trail. They will return it to the ant hill where it will kill the nest.

Boric acid is a powder that's used in eye washes. The EPA has ruled that it is no more harmful than table salt. More info here (http://www.mouthstick.net/tipsbits/boric.htm)

We have a real ant problem too. Several mounds of fire ants in the yard. Be careful of those little buggers.

We have sugar ants (the ones on me), red ants and carpenter ants. A trifecta!

Yicky-ick. I dislike creepy crawly things, ants included (but mostly spiders). We have a couple types here but it's the black ones and the red ones that swarm ya and if you're not fast - BITE! I hope you didn't get bitten, that can hurt and itch.

I'm with you on not wanting them to crawl on you. EW!

Ick, I had similar happen to me a few weeks ago. See, we take turns sweeping and mopping the front and side stairwells in the condo, and when I got to the front foyer, I was shocked to see ants all over!

I had to check my shoes, my mop, my broom....ugh. In the end, I don't seem to have brought any into our specific condo (nor does the infestation seem to have spread), but yeah, pretty gross.
