I love making icons, I hate posting them. The tables and all those fiddly bits make me twitchy.

Same here. I have a ton of icons waiting to be posted and can't be arsed to fuss with them. But have you seen this? (http://lj.indisguise.org/icontablegenerator.php) I thought I'd give it a try.

I don't know if I've seen that one. Seems every time I checkout one of those thingies, they're more complicated than the way I do it!

But, I did post them, and did it without having to ask Nin to help this time! Go me!

Later: yes, turns out I have seen that one. I think the way Nin taught me is easier.

I only use the table for my icontest comm. The one I use is simple to use, but I still prefer to post in my own way in my journal.
