Amazing Race

I rarely get this riled up over a reality show, but I'm making an exception in the case of the latest ep of 'Amazing Race'.

It was just wrong! The Ezraettes aka the Poker Girls, were robbed. Both tasks were geared against a two woman team, and I about cried with them. It was so frustrating! Especially when the other team totally bypassed the bikes they were supposed to use and got a lousy 30 min. penalty. Why weren't they made to go back and complete the task properly? By that token, the Ezraettes, could have bypassed the 'strong man' part of the challenge and just done the dance and the herring and got a 30 min penalty. So not fair. The 'strong man' bell thing was totally pointless.

At the end, I wanted them to just decide to skip the bell, go do the dance and quit (if needs be) on the mat -- but I know when you're that tired and exhausted, you don't think straight and neither of them were ready to give up yet. When they were ready, they were out there on the golf course. They looked at their situation and they folded.

I agree - both tasks were unfair to the all woman team. But to be honest I don't think the producers thought that the bell would be that hard to hit. By the time your at attempt 70 tries - you have no arm strength left. It was so unfair!! They tried so hard!

I thought they should have skipped it and incurred a 30 minute penalty. I thought they should have paid a local to do it for them - often they are allowed to use the locals for direction and stuff. I was surprised that the other team was not made to go back and ride the bikes - usually if your don't do a task they make you go back.

I agree it wasn't fair, but I think after the first couple of swings, they should have realized there arms would just get more tired, and they should have left to do the other challenge! I guess it's easy to critize when you're not there and just watching on tv. :) Also, I thought the 30 minute penalty was only for breaking transportation rules, but if you don't do part of task, then you have to go back and complete it. I don't know! I also wonder how long they actually spent at the strongman thing?
