Sad

I don't know if I ever mentioned the bunnies here. Basically, someone dumped their pet bunny in the empty lot/field behind our house, then a few months later, a second one. So we've been putting out food and water to try and keep them in the field and not wander across the streets looking for food. We've even been talking aobut trying to get a humane trap from the animal shelter and trying to catch them because I know that they don't have a high life expectancy on their own. Well, on the way to work this morning, I saw the second bunny, the little black and white one, dead against the curb. It really upset me, I keep seeing him. Him and the chocolate bunny would play together in the field, and then lay out in the sun. He's going to miss his little friend. This is why I have indoor cats. I just can't deal with results of them being outside. I wish I'd been able to something more to keep the little guy safe.

This is a crappy day and I need to stop crying before people start showing up at the office. I doubt they'd understand me being upset over a dead rabbit that wasn't even a pet.

*Hugs*

I hear you. And I continually am angry at/about and incomprehending of people who abandon animals.

I'm so sorry. That's also why I have indoor cats.

***HUGS*** This is also why I have indoor cats. I don't want anything like that to happen to them. Nor do I wish for them to become food for the occasional canid around here.

When I was fifteen, I found a little bird that had fallen out of its nest. It didn't last the night but I bawled like a baby when it passed. I'm so sorry for your loss hon *hugs and passes virtual chocolate*

Oh, I'm sorry. :( I had a horrible experience trying to rescue a baby bunny from one of my mom's outdoor cats. It ended very badly and I cried for ages.

Bunnies are so cute.

Aww, that's sad. I think people would understand. Maybe if you trapped the other bunny and found him a new home, you would feel better and wouldn't be worrying about him. All this past summer, my mom was trapping rabbits that were eatting her plants, and she would let them go in the park. She caught a squirrel once, but other than that, the trappings went smoothly.

I relocated quite a few chipmunks that were making houses under our house and garage. I got like 9 chipmunks, two voles and two squirrels. I took all of them to one of the parks we have around here.

aw poor bunny, it makes me angry that people think that just letting them go is OK and that they'll magically just know what to do. Same with cats, like I see cats out all the time and I'd stop for them but I know that 1. chances are it won't come to me and 2. the people likely KNOW damn well it's out but somehow letting CATS roam is perfectly OK, whilst most people wouldn't do that with dogs. I hope you can catch the other bunny maybe and take it to the shelter so it can have a chance at a nice life.

Aw, that is so awful. Poor little bunny. I can't deal with it either. I hate seeing that sort of thing.

I really hate it when people dump their animals. I think bunnies get dumped after Easter a lot. Parents think its such a cool idea to get their children a bunny or duck and they get tired of taking care of it very quickly. *sad*

You have every right to bawl your eyes out.
