No it is not possible. I sob away at the end every time even though it is meant to be a 'happy' end happy? I don't think so!

I start to lose it when Frodo wakes up, then I really start when Aragorn says "You bow to no one". By the time we get to the Grey Havens, I'm a little sodden mass. The theme of saving home, but not for one's self is something that gets me every time I read the books.
