Ask

Pillaged this from [livejournal.com profile] meredevachon

Ask me anything you want about any of my stories: how I thought of the idea, what I did to write it, what I was thinking when I wrote it, what I feel about it now, what I wish I'd done differently, etc. Or ask any of the characters from particular stories something you want to know, and get an answer from them. Or both.

Most recent fic is over on the sidebar, older fic is on my archive.

It's going to be a dead, dead day here at work, so boredom looms on the horizon. So I'm looking for things to keep me occupied. Be afraid!!

Here's a question!

In "First Sunrise", Triona spends the first few paragraphs being woken up by an unnamed, barely described man. It turns out to be Methos, and I wondered why you chose to write the beginning that way.

Hey, I got a question! Didn't think I would :)

I had to go back and refresh my memory!

I was thinking about how when you're really tired, and in a very deep sleep, it can almost be a dream state when you're on the edge of wakefulness. So details are hazy. The edges of sound when your clock radio goes off, even thinking the music is a part of a dream. So that was sort of what I was going for. And I try and start stories that aren't always straight on. In this case, the reader gets to start from Triona's awareness and share that place between sleep and waking.

Is that an acceptable answer? [g] And thanks for posing a question!

That does indeed! How interesting that "husband" percolates through her sleepy brain before his name does.

Heh, well it could have been LaCroix, after all. Writing a polyamorous relationship can be complicated, so I imagine actually living it could be more so [g]

Basically I do whatever the voices tell me!
