Everyone should post their ten most CRUCIAL CRUCIAL CRUCIAL-ASS movies, like the movies that explain everything about yourselves in your current incarnations (not necessarily your ten favorite movies but the ten movies that you, as a person existing currently, feel would help people get to know you) (they can change later on obviously).

I currently have 88 works posted on AO3. Choose a random number - no peeking! - between 1 and 88, and I will tell you three things I currently like about that story.

Obviously not all my fic, just newest and what I've gotten around to posting on AO3, but still, a selection :D

Let's see if this can kickstart more fannish type posting, since I can't even seem to work up enough enthusiasm to post about ST:Into Darkness.

Post the first sentence (or three) from every WIP you're currently working on, even if it's very short. Then invite people to ask questions about your WIPs. With any luck, the motivation to take that WIP one step closer to completion will appear as if by magic!

I only have three, currently.

1: Once upon a time, on Earth, Immortals were at the top of the food chain. They may not have known what they were, or where they came from, but they were secure in the knowledge that they were unique and without peer. But there came a day that something happened to shatter that belief.

2: “You are the most beautiful boy. Yes, you are! Are you lonely here all by yourself?”

Colonel Luis Montoya, military governor in the service of his Majesty the King of Spain here in this part of Alta California, paused at the sound of the female voice, speaking in English.

3: “If you want me to come, then of course I will. But I think you overestimate any influence I might have with Chris.”

“Thank you, Charlotte,” Ezra said, relief colouring his voice.

From Too Young For Heaven (Magnificent 7):
“Maybe we should brew one of yer fine healin’ teas there, Nathan. Sure it would make ya feel a whole lot better.” There was a bit of an evil gleam in Vin’s eyes.

Ezra chuckled and even Charlotte’s lips twitched at the rather vengeful tone underlying the sharpshooter’s words.

“Don’t need none! And there ain’t nothin’ wrong with my teas!” Nathan said firmly. “Y’all just don’t know what’s good for you.” He tried to get out of the bed again, only to have Vin push him back down one more time.

From White As Snow, Red As Blood(Highlander/Avengers):
"Is he all right?" she demanded, fear curling in the pit of her stomach. She hadn't heard from Methos in days. Had something happened? Jane had told her how Loki had tried to kill his brother, and that he had attempted to destroy an entire planet. Only Thor's intervention, destroying the Bifröst, had prevented it.

"For now," he said softly at her ear.

She pressed back against the table, instinctively reaching behind for the shears she knew were there, her fight or flight instinct choosing fight with no hesitation.

From At The Edge of Heaven (Queen of Swords):
“You are laughing at me.” She looked down at her hands. “Mock me if you will, but I shall continue with their lessons!”

“I am not laughing at you, Isabelle, and I would never mock you.” With a finger under her chin, he tipped her face up to meet his eyes. “It is an admirable thing you do. Just step carefully; there are many who are quite happy with the status quo.”

She sniffed. “I would like to see them try and stop me!” Whirling, she strode from the room.

Sighing, he said softly, “So would I, little sister, so would I.”

Everything is possible, nothing is ever really over.

Fanfiction is a creative outlet for you. You don't intentionally write it, it just happens. You find inspiration in several fandoms, but are not obsessed with only one.

You like to explore "what if" situations. What if this character had never made this very choice? What if this event had taken place sooner, never, elsewhere? What if these people had never met?

You are likely to write Alternative Universes, fan seasons or sequels and just follow your (sometimes pretty strange) plot bunnies.

No, though the current one started as a one shot, and ended up becoming a series. Still not quite sure how that happened.

Yes! It can be very difficult. That's why I have an Excel spreadsheet for the larger series to keep track of dates and when individual stories in the series are set. And even then, I often have to go back to refresh my memory on some detail I can't quite remember. I try very hard to maintain continuity. I also use the series spreadsheet to jot down stuff I know happened, that hasn't actually been in a story, but might be referenced at some point.
