One Advantage

I've been posting 'I Remember You Not Fondly' to fanfiction.net as well, and since they track hits by part, I've been able to see how many people are sticking with the story as I post. I was pleasantly surprised to discover mote than 60 people on ff.net are following along. Not too bad for a non D/M Highlander story, and one that's technically a crossover. I say technically, because there are no Star Trek characters in the story. But it is set in that universe, so a crossover it is. Oh, and it has an original character, and that's strike three! So considering how unpopular in general the categories my fic falls under are, I'm quite surprised that so many people are reading. On LJ, there's no real way to tell, so it's one advantage to posting on an alternate venue. Especially when there are zero comments. At least you know someone's reading if nothing else. Which is always reassuring.

This was my insecure writer post for July [g]

I've never actually posted anything to fanfiction.net, although I used to have an account. But it's a damn good story and of course discerning people will like it!

I started posting there before I had an LJ, since it seemed to be where people had gone to after the fic email lists I was on all seemed to die. Then I discovered LJ :)

Thanks :)

I've been waiting till the end -- but have been noting each part as it comes along. I promise I'll send you a good long comment :-)

Hee! Well, I think it's getting close to done -- relatively speaking at least. Three or four more parts maybe.Unless the muses get extra wordy [g]

I like it when your muses get wordy. Much fun happens then. *grin*

I always like to tell authors I like that i am enjoying their work so ... I am really enjoying your stories and I am going to start reading the next one you recommended. I need 30 hour days to catch up but I will!

Hit counts and high traffic are why I love posting at Twisting the Hellmouth. My latest story (QL/SPN/BtVS) cross has ~4,000 hits (over 9 chapters) and I have recieved about 50 comments. If you can post over there I recommended it. Very high traffic. But you either have to write buffy or make a donation.
I wish more people would take the time even if its only a single word.
I got lots of "awesome" for the last story I posted. And that's just fine.

Afraid I don't write Buffy. But it's a great archive. I've found lots of good fic over there over the years.

I definitely appreciate one word comments :) There's no such as an unappreciated comment for me.

I could use some 30 hour days myself!

That's just proof that you're a good writer... and I should get off my lazy butt and read said story!

I personally enjoy it when people comment. I honestly wish more would, because God knows I try to comment on everything I read, even if it's a "good job" or "keep up the good work".

*hugs* I have no doubt you're a good writer, and it's okay to feel insecure. I know I'm going through that. ;)

I enjoy it as well. Audience interaction is always of the good [g]

Thanks [hugs back] I think it just goes with the territory!
