Getting There

New DVR came in, and I mostly have it set up. now I see why the girl on the phone last week told me I'd have to call to finish the install - their 'step by step' guide is crap. Several steps aren't included. But guess what? I winged it, and got it working, without having to call in! Go me! The only thing missing is my ABC station, but that might take a cycle through to show up, so will check again tomorrow.

Other than that, it's quiet and I'm thinking of reading old fic of mine to see if I can't jolt my muse into starting on the next bit of 'Fondly'.

BTW, my new salsa recipe? Rocked! If I do say so myself [g]

It was alot of fun watching Holby with ninjababe and tequilajen this weekend! Usually I watch it all by my lonesome, so the group viewing experience was cool! And tomorrow, a new ep!

I actually went clothes shopping this weekend. Sears is having a clearance sale and I spent $130 on blouses, tops, pants, and underwear. Still need new jeans tho, guess I'll have to try JCP this week

Shopping! I got a new dress, and slacks from Boden a few weeks back, and I got a new top from Chico's yesterday. I still need a pair of brown or tan dress slacks though. A vacation is a fine excuse for new clothes [g]

I like to periodically reread things I've written, although my muse steadfastly refuses to cooperate with me in finishing any of those projects.

If I can Nin to type it up :) It was 16 tomatillos, 6 cloves garlic, 1/2 onion, a chili pepper, blackened under the broiler. Then tossed in the blender with the juices from the pan, 1/2 cup cilantro and two tablespoons lime juice, salt to taste.

It was supposed to be a habanero, but I subbed a serrano. I think that was about it.

I'll look at the recipe to double check though.

Wow. Thanks! It sounds yummy. How long will that batch last refrigerated? I might need to cut it down since it's just me and the cats and they insist on paté. *grin*

Double checked and I actually remembered it all. Small additions... it calls for 4 cloves, I made it 6 :) Line a rimmed pan with foil, there will be lots of juice. And tomatillos explode! I got hit in the face by very hot liquid. I put on goggles after that. and, of course, it needs to chill after it's made.

Oh, and... you have turn the ingredients after they char on one side. The tomatillos took about ten-twelve minutes a side, the other parts less.
