Heh, considering mine said I was well known for "Managing to shag Snape," while listing my "Percentage of student body shagged" as 6% apparently all I managed to shag was Snape. Can't say as that disappoints me though. B-)
LOL I got Dated Harry (*shrug* prefer one of the Marauders or Nevil but could be worse), known for shagging Snape (http://j-renae.livejournal.com/50107.html) *fans self from the hotness of him* and managed to shag 100% of the student body.
WOW I'm assuming that I didn't get very many NEWTS then.
Wow, I got Draco, too, and the same "Will You Marry Me" answer, but uh, I was also famous for being the school slut and shagging 87% of the student body. Yay?
You kow, I have to ask, what the HELL is up with everyone thinking Snape is hot? Because, description in the books? Not hot. As seen in movies? Not hot.
In fact, greasy and fairly repugnant. Am I missing something?
I'm with you! Alan Rickman yes, but greasy Snape no!
Oh, and apparently I shagged 88% of the student body including an insignificant life form and someone famous *blink* apparently my witchy alter ego is a LOT more promiscuous (or should that be "less picky"?) than me!
That's odd. As himself, Alan Rickman doesn't really do anything for me. I had seen him in a few things before HP1 came out and frankly, I wasn't much impressed. (The one thing I knew him for was GalaxyQuest). But then he appeared as Snape and I was riveted.
In the books, when I'm skimming through looking for something specific, if I come to a reference of Snape in the scene, I stop and read it through. He grabs my attention, my curiousity, my imagination - I want to know WHY he is that way, HOW it happened, WHAT happened to him.
Don't get me wrong, Alan Rickman is a phenomenal actor. He never plays himself, each character is fully formed; complete and complex and totally different from every other. I admire that so much. And as himself, he demonstrates humour, quick-wit and intelligence - which is indeed a powerful turn-on. But physically - he's too tall and too blonde (although time is dealing with that last).
I'm coming to think that he was not such a great choice for Snape, though. Not because he's not good in the role, I think that he is amazing, but because he looks and acts so unhappy about it. I have a gut feeling that he regards the role of Snape in the same light that Alexander Dane regarded Dr. Lazarus and that mars my joy at his continued presence in the movies.
I think that Snape is a fantastic character, I just don't find him hot. He wears more hats than any other, which makes him interesting, but I just don't fancy him.. nor any of the other characters in HP for that matter.
A goodly part of my visceral reaction to him might be due to being married to an overly-tall, intelligent, dry-humoured man with long, straight dark hair, and a noble nose who has had occasion in the past to wear academic robes and often still wears a long black lounging robe.
However, my partner is emotionally stable, kind-hearted and fun to be with. And he loves me. :-)
Initially, I just really liked the character, no hotness involved. Then I went through a phase of reading HP fic, and some of those stories turned me to the sexy side of Snape fandom :) I figure that the books are from Harry's POV, and he hates Snape, so he sees him constantly in the worst light. Sort of like Nick's LaCroix flashbacks in first season FK -- only way to explain the Billy Idol hair discontinuity [g]
