Ask Me

Since it's Friday and I'm bored, and there are quite a few new folks on my f'list since the last time I did this, I decided it was time to trot out the 'ask me' meme.

Ask me a question, personal, fandom, fic. If you've ever had a burning desire to know something, now's your chance.

Jumping in with evil-footed glee...

What DO you think of Duncan MacLeod?

Now that's just not nice! :P You're evil. I like that in a person [g]

See, if I say it here, I'll still end up hurting someone's feelings, which is why I usually keep my mouth shut on certain fandom subjects. But I'll try to be as diplomatic as possible.

My feelings for Duncan are something of a seperate issue to my feelings about Duncan when it comes to Methos. Does that make sense? If we're just talking Duncan, in general, I like the guy. Could even be friends with him. When it comes to Methos, I'm overprotective [g] It's like when you have a really good friend who has a friend who you think isn't really good for them, but they don't see it, so you have to stand back and let them find out for themselves, even though you know they're going to get hurt in the end.

(for those that are wondering, this all originates from a comment I made at Pat's)

Ah. Well, this makes sense.

Duncan does have a bit of a tendency to judge other people, doesn't he? And to say what he's thinking before -- well, as I say about myself, to start his mouth before he puts his brain in gear.

Well, this makes sense.

It does?!?! Well, cool then! :)

Which characters have you had the most fun writing? Why?

Methos and LaCroix, for many of the same reasons. They're both ancient, complex characters, who also manage to always have the best lines [g] I can write different versions of each character in different series, and have that characterization be totally plausible.

And they're at their most fun to write when they're sharing a a scene -- they both want the last word!

Red wine v. smelly cheese: which is best? Or is there a third temptation? :)

Better? They're an inseparable pair! But, if pressed, I'd have to say wine, only because cheese isn't alcoholic [g]

Ok, I'll bite.

How important is it to you that proper research be done when you are starting out a fic? Explain...

I ask because I notice what you are trying to do with QoS...

If it's historical, very important. Plus I love research. Not to mention, it helps avoid actual writing [g]

LOL! I can almost concur to that statement, but my Wenches have been AWOL far too long this time!

Probably Creme Brulee with raspberries.
