'Bromance'

I'll admit, I've never heard the term before, but here's an article on the phenomena:

Bromances aren't uncommon as guys delay marriage

So what would two women be? Sismance?

Before I read the article, I was thinking it was about the new craze in the writing world of brothers sharing a woman. *snicker*

I'm beginning to get a real idea of your mindset....

So of course that would be what you think! ::weg::

LOL, the comment about men having a one-track mind...it works for me as well. But I must say, the thought of blood brothers sharing a woman squicks me a wee bit. Brothers by oath is different. That's just me though.

Bromance

I heard the term first a couple years ago, I think. It is an interesting sociological phenomena. Thanks for the article link. That was interesting.

I have not heard a comparable term for females. Maybe it's because it's well accepted that females can be close without being gay, and guys for a while now have feared displaying affection (particularly in a physical way, like a hug). I think it's a good trend though. Males generally suppress their emotions too much. It's ingrained in them early in life. And who knows? It might even benefit us 'chicks' someday. ::g:: A gal can hope!

Special term? We don't need no stinkin' special term. We're females and have already evolved past that nonsense!

What a wierd, ignorant world we live in...

Male friendships have generally been the norm (ditto female for that matter) since.. forever.

Sheesh. Haven't these guys ever heard of Gilgamish? It's like the whole wide world and all it's literary history just began last week.
