I'll admit, I've never heard the term before, but here's an article on the phenomena:

I heard the term first a couple years ago, I think. It is an interesting sociological phenomena. Thanks for the article link. That was interesting.

I have not heard a comparable term for females. Maybe it's because it's well accepted that females can be close without being gay, and guys for a while now have feared displaying affection (particularly in a physical way, like a hug). I think it's a good trend though. Males generally suppress their emotions too much. It's ingrained in them early in life. And who knows? It might even benefit us 'chicks' someday. ::g:: A gal can hope!


Special term? We don't need no stinkin' special term. We're females and have already evolved past that nonsense!
