Look, A Meme!

Why the heck not?

Ask me a question about one of my stories. It can be absolutely anything in any story. Whatever you ask, I will attempt to answer truthfully.

You may ask about fic I've written, fic I've promised to write, WIPs, anything you'd like.

Do you see Robert Helm as having a deep dark secret, or just wanting to get away from the spitfires of war and civilization, or something else motivating him?

No, I never saw him with a deep dark secret. As far as my fic goes, it was the death of his brother during the Napoleonic Wars that was his motivation.

if I may add one more question -

your depiction of Pepper Potts seems more at-ease and relaxed than the film suggests; is it all a matter of who she's talking to* or does it show how your OFC can gain peoples' confidences?

* = she seems a bit more hair-let-down with Tony in your fic, though.

I dunno. I don't see my Pepper as more hair let down than the one in the film. I mean, she is the woman who thought the second thing Tony wanted after the cheeseburger was something other than a press conference [ahem] And she's pretty take charge and confident in that first scene where she turns his music off and makes him pay attention to her list. I have a whole list of awesome Pepper moments. I think she rocks.

I don't think my OFC can gain confidences. She doesn't have mutant powers or anything. But she has known Pepper for 6 years, so it's not like they're perfect strangers. I would hope if I'd known someone that long, and bought them Xmas and BD gifts for them from my boss that I'd actually have conversations with that person. I guess all I can say is that it seems logical to me. It would seem bizarre to me to not have some sort of friendly interaction after all that time. Granted, some people think admins are beneath notice, but Charlotte isn't that sort of person. She's not Christine.

good point...I guess I forgot most of the low-key scenes with Pepper in the film. sorry.

I didn't mean to suggest that Charlotte has mutant powers - just that Immortality would've given her time to refine her friendliness and conversational ability into a weapon that probably makes Methos check his pockets after a chat. ;)

If she had them, it would add X Men and we aren't going there! [g]

Ok.I'll play Given that Charlotte started out in PotC what made you decide to bring her into the Ironman universe

Me? What makes you think I had anything to do with it? [g] [points at Tony]

I was writing "I Am Going To The West", straight Highlander for once, no xover elements. About the same time, I'd written that Tony meets Methos ficlet, and the Tony/Pepper one. So Tony was really active, chattering non stop. As I'm writing the HL fic, he walked into Charlotte's winery and informed me that they were great friends, he was in the story now! Gah!! That's what became 'Practical Applications'. Seriously, I feel I had very little to do with it :)

[identity profile] strangevisitor7.livejournal.com 2008-07-23 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Tony is such a pushy guy. if he wasn't so lovable we'd have to do something about that. He must have know that Charlotte was a good balance to his manic personality. Lucky for him she was there!!

It's great when the characters decide for themselves what they want. That's how my OFC - Katie happened. I was trying to fix Sam Winchester up with an established canon character and he said - not interested. I like her roommate better - so I created one.

BTW - Car damage was minimal and is being repaired tomorrow.yay

Yep! I think Tony liked the idea of knowing a woman who was married to a famous pirate, even though FicTony doesn't know about it yet [g]

Glad to hear about the car! And I'm around tonight if you are looking for company :)

Does that mean you're thinking of sharing the big "I'm an immortal" secret with the man in the flying suit?

Going to bed early - at least that's the plan. Though my Richie and Jo story is demanding attention.

Yeah, but not for a while :) and then it will be because she gets shot in front of him.

Okay, this is sort of relevant, given the guidelines above: what do you think LaCroix thinks of Tony Stark?

Other than 'Look, snacks!', I have no idea [g]
