Bunnies

I've had this story idea burning a hole in my brain the last week, and in an attempt to divert it, I decided to infect [livejournal.com profile] strangevisitor7 with plot bunnies. Seems to have worked -- well, at least the infecting her part. I still have my bunny gallumping around.

Scene opens with Ezra waking up in a seedy room, Maude sitting by his side. He's feeling ill and feverish. He has no idea what's going on, or where he is. He realizes Maude looks years older than he remembers her. He questions her and she's quite impatient, having explained this many times before after one of his 'spells', and having dealt with his fantasies about Immortals. He asks for Charlotte and Maude tells him she was murdered along with her abolitionist fiance when Ezra was 18. Everything he thinks he remembers about his life doesn't exist.

Can't get the idea out of my head! I did an alternate life fic in my Bloodties series a few years back, and I do love the concept. BAH!! I hate it when i get these ephemeral story ideas when I'm half awake, half asleep. There always the ones that linger and that I can't get out of my head.

Eeek

I prefer the original fic verse.
Cause Charlotte being dead is unacceptable.

No, it's not like that permanently. It's falling into an alternate universe and trying to fight your way out.

{giggles} Your AU has AUs! I think that's a hoot! {grin}

AU stories are a favourite of mine. I wrote a Bloodites one a few years back. In that case the means of the AU was a lab accident. That won't work in this case :)

Interesting idea...

Obviously should be called something like--Life on Jupiter? (running and hiding now)

Hey, I was writing these sorts of stories long before that show came along! :P

This one (http://ithildyn.livejournal.com/531.html) for example [g]

Yes! I remember that one!

So going with what [personal profile] dejla said would this be a Life on Mars crossover. Can an Immortal get "brain fever" or be in a comma? OOh maybe Ezra is buried alive - then he would be waking and dying over and over again - that could seriously cause delusions. I really love the idea of an AU of our AU.

Only seen two eps of the show, so can't answer :) I'm thinking a mine shaft, impaled and poison gas.

I always loved those kinds of episodes of shows, when the lead thinks that their life has been a dream or fever (the most obvious one that springs to mind is Buffy, but the device has been used loads). I think it's such a great device for exploring parts of the character's psyche that might not get explored normally.

And if you follow the rabbit down the rabbithole, maybe Ezra can visit Wonderland while you're there *runs away cackling*

I've always liked them too. My favourite episode of STNG was Yesterday's Enterprise :)
