Finally, the Star Trek

We really enjoyed it, will probably go again.

Thought Karl Urban as Bones rocked, also liked the new Kirk, Scotty, and Uhura. A little underwhelmed with the guy who plays Spock. Maybe he'll grow on me in the sequel.

Now I need to backtrack and find all the cool threads, fic, etc., I missed by seeing the movie so late.

*Points to icon* Totally with you, there. I may eventually come to like the new guy, but he will never, ever, ever replace Leonard Nimoy in my heart. ♥

I wasn't happy with Sarek's casting either, so maybe I'm just pickier about my Vulcans [g] This new Spock just has such a baby face. I really do think 'Baby Trek' when I see him.

I finally saw it too! I loved it, even my brother liked it (he's more a Star Wars fan). I loved Karl Urban (love him anyways, but he was really good as Bones, his first scene was perfect). I liked Kirk, wasn't too fond of Uhura (she was only ok for me), but I did like youngSpock, though no one can ever be as cool as the original.

YES! Karl Urban rocks the movie - Glad you finally saw it.
I found this icon of Karl and now I want to write Bones in the old west - please don't let me do that.

I have never been a ZQ fan (even in heroes) so I was not blown away by his Spock but I loved Scotty and everyone else. I agree Spock was the weak link

I beleive that the Icon was from the prequel to Lonesome Dove that Karl was in.

Star Trek and time travel - now that actually makes sense..in a scifi cliché kind of way... No must not send Kirk Spock and McCoy back to meet the 7....

I had just the opposite reaction. He kept pulling me out of the movie. I did really like the kid they cast as little Spock though.

Karl Urban was freaking awesome!!

I like Chris Pine but couldn't get past Kirk having "blue" eyes. Totally threw me off his character! Scotty was well cast!

Since it was a reboot, I didn't think they'd all have the same colouring and such, so I didn't notice.
