Little Things
Why is it when you're feeling overwhelmed by big things, it's the little things that just set you off? My little thing is my missing iTune playlists and I'm beside myself over it. It's one of those things that take hours over many months to get just the way you want them and the thought of trying to recreate them makes me very unhappy. Not sure what happened, but iTunes upgraded to 9 last week, and it was all fine. We think it was because it only finished installing on Nin's side of the computer on Tuesday. Or not. Don't really know. Anyway, I opened iTunes yesterday to discover an ancient playlist from when the harddrive died last year. The same playlist that wouldn't import when we started with the new HD necessitating me recreating all my playlists! ARGH! And because I misunderstood a conversation I had with Nin, I didn't realize I could backup my lists. It's stupid, but looking at iTunes is about setting me off into tears.
Stupid.
Stupid.

I had an email today that mentioned that iTunes had released a crappy update that was causing problems with iPhones and iPod Touches, so it may be the updates fault. Not that that helps you recover your playlists.
I recently discovered Nutsie (http://www.nutsie.com), you can easily back up your songs and I think it will do playlists too. If you can't recover and have to rebuild it may be worth remotely backing up to them? It also means you can listen to your tunes anytime you have internet connection but no Pod (which is what I loved!)
Anyway, I hope you manage to fix it with minimal fuss. Have a cuppa and a big bar of chocolate, it's always good for what ails you.

We're one bride closer LOL
I can't tell you how happy I am right this second, I think I'm going to cry.
Cedar City, woooooot! We looked at houses there and here and SG. It's a really nice town. Even am thinking of applying for jobs there, but the pass in the winter can be problematical. We're as far from Cedar as we are from St. George.

I haven't dared upgrade my itunes at all. Precisely because of this issue. A task for this week. Meanwhile, have some chocolate, and breath in the crisp scent of fall air . . .

I know how you feel! It's been a slightly crazy day here & I just snapped at my daughters for asking for water after they'd gone to bed. :-( Ah well, it was a good moment to illustrate how to apologize & ask forgiveness!
I hope you & Nin can iron out the iTunes problem. I want a magic computer stick to shake at misbehaving 'puters & scare them into working correctly! {grin}

It also happens with feeling sad or depressed. I will get into a funk where I'm dealing with a lot of negative feelings about myself and life and then small things will just break me down.

I've seen complaints about the iTunes update all over, so it's not just you. I've done the update, but haven't sync'd the iPod, since I haven't added anything new recently. That may be something to add to the weekend to-do list :)
