Mirror, Mirror

winks7985 and I were having a general conversation about wrting and over the course of it, I mentioned the 'Mirror Universe' Highlander fic I'd written a few years back. The end result was us wanting to read and write Mirror AU M7 fic. Idle hands and all that!

If you've seen Star Trek, you know the concept, but if you don't, it's basically a mirror universe where you have an evil double and their Earth and its history are the opposite of ours. There's a good summary here. So the idea we had was to write a Magnificent Seven fic with the mirror selves of the seven, either OW or ATF, or some other AU. There are all sorts of possibilities.

So the question is, would you like to read and/or write such fic? We'll figure out the logistics later if there seems to be interest :)

That's a fabulous idea! I'd totally read that but in the Mirror universe would they be more evil. I mean Chris is a cranky SOB in the show so how much meaner could he get. And Ezra would he be a better gambler, less trusting? Curious how this is gonna work

Cranky is one thing, but... :) Heck, I don't know, maybe he has a son with Sara but never marries her and has some sort of criminal gang with Ella till she double crosses him and he kills her. Or Ezra has a sideline in assassination, or is something of a mob boss who breaks legs to settle gambling debts. Lots and lots of ideas. Really depends on how dark you want to go.

So which of the boys is going to crossover and see what bastards the others can really be. I vote for JD - he'd be totally eaten alive in the mirror verse. LOL
Just not Ezra - the others in the normal world might actually think he's gone back to his old ways.

And Vin is totally an assassin for hire and bounty hunter who brings them in dead more often than alive

But thinking of your conversation above - some people's roles change in the Mirror Verse but they're not necessarily evil. For example in DS9, Quark is still a bartender but he actively assists the resistance.

Yep. In my Highlander story, Kronos was something of the Spock of the piece. Much more rational than the one in the series. So some of it is just a little 'off' as opposed to opposite.

Wow, now that would be a cool new AU. I think I like the idea of the boys as a criminal mastermind ring, evading the fibbies and what not. It would be interesting developing the characters. Would their main character traits be so strong and stay the same only be warped, or would it be the main character traits that get switched into opposites? ah, the possibilities.
