Magnificent Seven Con
Jan. 30th, 2013 05:16 pmRelevant to some of our interests: there's a Magnificent Seven con being planned for August of this year in Los Angeles. I'm pondering going, though it's still a little far out for me to make any decisions just yet. But it would be fun!
Beating the Dust Out
Jan. 21st, 2013 06:16 pmFor those that may have missed it, I've been writing in the Magnificent Seven portion of my series again. I finally finished Too Young For Heaven, along with rewriting some of the earlier portions, and I wrote a sequel, And My Heart Was Colder When You’d Gone, which is flat out romanticy type fic (Though I don't think of the mushy variety.), which I don't do very often, or for a while, and was afraid I'd lost the knack to write. I did however manage to find that aspect of my muse hidden under the bed in the spare room :D She was fine after I beat the dust out.
This Is Getting Silly
Jan. 12th, 2013 05:38 pmYes, I'm sick, again. Or it's an extension of the last sickness, I don't know. It's not the flu, but it's worse than a cold. I shall just call it Rufus the Sick. Now if I can just avoid the actual influenza, I will be happy.
I did have some fun this afternoon though - did a Twitter rewatch of Avengers with my Magnificent 7 twitter peeps. We had an international gathering, and the hashtag was #punygod. I was a little slow with the tweeting as my hurty head really wasn't digging me trying to multitask, but we had a good time.
On the TV front, Scandal keeps me coming back for more, and was happy to have Lost Girl back. The rewatch of Mag 7 continues, and we're now a little more than halfway through S2.
We were going to go to the movies tomorrow, probably Les Miserables, but I don' think I'm going to be up to it. Plus, I've heard it's a multiple tissue movie, and I don't think my poor lungs could handle it.

Revisitng Old Friends
Jan. 7th, 2013 01:34 pmDecided to rewatch Magnificent Seven after all. Over the last two nights, we've made it to S2. There's something comforting about rewatching an old favourite, don't you think? Maybe that's why I tend to do it when I'm not feeling well. It's like a nice mental cup of hot tea. It also got my old west fic muse going, and I opened up the file for Too Young For Heaven, and started writing. I wrote about 2000 words yesterday! Maybe I need to get sick more often, considering I haven't posted a part of this particular fic for something like three years. I may actually have it done here in a few days.
AO3 Top Ten
Apr. 22nd, 2012 04:39 pmSeen all over, the AO3 Top Ten List. Being a list of my fic with the most hits.
01: An Allocation of Regret - 1029
This is the 2nd part of that Mag 7 ATF/White collar 'Sea Change' series. And damn, is the whole thing incredibly popular over all. Just wish I could start writing in it again.
02: White As Snow, Red As Blood - 913
This one surprised me being #2 on the list. It's my newest, and it's a WIP. I'm not sure what it is about it that's generated so many hits comparatively.
03: Transformative Variations - 835
I'm pleased this one is is on the list. It's one of my personal favourites, with lots of Methos and Tony Stark snark. It's fairly long, and long stuff doesn't normally do as well as the shorter pieces.
04: Straight and Narrow - 831
The first part of the Sea change series from up at #1.
05: Rescue - 826
The last part - so far - of the Sea Change series.
06: Double Double, Pants and Trouble - 816
Straight Magnificent Seven, humour, a cute fic about Buck's missing pants. I think the Ezzie it got has boosted the hits.
07: The House of Keebler - 611
Can I say I love the title of this one? Okay, I do! Another rare humourous/light hearted fic. Methos (and Duncan) meets the God of Thunder for the first time - in a bar, of course. They share one of Daw's son's tasty brews. And Thor's ideas on just what Immortals are.
08: I'll Be Seeing You - 401
I'm fond of the stories Nick Fury appears in. This one something of a bridge between the events in Captain America, and foreshadowing what's to come.
09: Variations on a Theme For Cowboys - 396
Who doesn't like a Halloween costume party? Various and sundry SHIELD members, and Immortals show up for the bash. Including one very flirtatious God of Mischief. Another fave title of mine.
10: Everything Old is New Again - 390
Two of my favourite guys, Methos and Nick Fury, share an early morning cup of coffee.
( Thoughts and stuff.... )

Part of the Cure
Mar. 28th, 2012 07:28 pmSo when everything is falling down around my ears, I start creating stories, characters, etc., in my head. Most will never see the light of day, but this one.... we'll see.
This is a Magnificent 7 modern day AU, where they're a SHIELD team. I have most the characters' backgrounds sorted, just need a plot!
Chris Larabee: Army Special Forces, captured in Afghanistan, thought to be dead, three years later, escapes/maybe rescued. Comes home to find his wife had recently remarried (wanted to do something other than killing her off)
Buck Wilmington: Grew up with Chris in New Mexico, they joined the Army together, he never gave up on Chris, never truly believed he was dead. Tony Stark's escape gave him fresh hope that his friend might be alive.
Ezra Standish: (this is my favourite one) Maude was exiled from Asgard to Midgard, where she married a human. She's always telling Ezra she's going to restore his 'god given gifts'[snerk]. Ezra is captured sneaking around the bifrost site in New Mexico.
Vin Tanner: Chris met Vin while they were both in hospital at the US military hospital in Germany. Chris after his escape, Vin for wounds from an IED. After they come home, Chris removes himself to his family's ranch in New Mexico, and offers Vin a home and a job as long as he needs it.
Nathan Jackson: A doctor at the hospital in New Mexico Thor first showed up, he knows more than he should due to his drunk friend Darcy telling him more than she should.
Josiah Sanchez: Obadiah Stane's head of security, who realized too late what his boss was up to. Arrested after the events of IM I, he's trying to atone for what he's done.
JD Dunne: Hotshot pilot, crop duster as a teenager, joined the Air Force, trained to fly choppers. Think Murdoch from the A Team except sane.
Sound like it has potential? It's definitely been entertaining me the last few days!

You know that Mag 7/White Collar Snippet?
Jun. 4th, 2011 04:42 pmI think I have an actual plot in mind. So maybe I can actually turn it into a real live story. I know! Who'd have believed it?
