so get used to seeing it! [g]

What did everyone think of the new Who? We really enjoyed it! Loved the feel of a more retro like Doctor, like the Doctor Who I first fell ion love with way back when. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy new Who, but it's never had that emotional grab that it did with Baker and Davidson. Looking forward to Eleven and what's to come!

I really loved it, although I was hoping, for a moment, that he'd go back and fetch 'Amelia' for his companion, instead of the older version - but I'm a bit mad that way.

I loved the retro credits, and the new look TARDIS, and I like the new Doctor, he actually comes across as alien, which I think Tennant had a bit of a problem with. Amy seems to have potential, but her younger self seemed to make more of an impression on me... maybe it was the way she set about making rashers and custard for him without even batting an eye :-P

I loved it. I went round to my sisters to watch with my nephews which was great - then after we'd been to the Easter Vigil (everyone else in my family is very RC so I got persuaded) we watched it again, with added cousins. There were no cries of 'no you can't watch it again as it's bed time' from my sister as she was watching it too (she missed our first session due to having to be at the church early) and more importantly she understands how important a New Doctor is to some of us...

Oh and I *adored* TARDIS fxing herself.

Firstly, I quite enjoyed the episode and am keen to see what Matt Smith does with Eleven.

But, out of curiosity, why do you consider it more "retro" than Doctors Nine and Ten?

I thought he was great! I know what you mean about the "retro" feeling--I'm getting a huge Robert Holmes/Philip Hinchcliffe vibe from the whole thing. However, I think it distinguishes itself on its own merits.

Totally loved it and cannot wait to see what Matt Smith will do as Eleven! I liked the retro feel of it, like someone else on my flist mentioned: RTD's Who was a reinvention; Moffatt's feels like an update, which I prefer.

Either way, I enjoyed it!

I rather liked it!! Matt Smith is not too shabby as the new Doctor. However...I don't know how I feel about the new companion. I liked Amelia, she was right on the spot. Amy though kind of has something lacking, maybe she'll get better. I hope so. I'll still continue to watch regardless. <3

My initial reaction is meh. I've said since I was first disappointed by the news Moff was going with the youngest Doctor ever I'd give it a chance, and I'll give it a few more episodes. I just wasn't impressed by anything about the episode. Both Eleven and Amy made me think of Doctors and Companions I like better at their best. At their worst they reminded me of some of my least favorites, namely Two and Rose Tyler. The story was pretty nothing since it was mostly introducing the characters and setting up the "The Universe is Cracked" theme. We'll see what I think of next week.
