ithildin: (Art - Heat: Red Shoes & Martini)
Returning the most gorgeous shoes ever -- believe me, the pic I posted didn't do them justice. The patent was a deep ruby red with a subtle glitter. But the 6 1/2, my usual size, was too snug around the toes, and the 7 just didn't seem to fit quite right. Plus, I now live in a climate where 2/3s of the year, I'm in sandals and flip flops, and I need a pair of summer sandals for everyday work. So, I'll just have to make do with shoes I already own, which aren't quite 'right', but it's for a few hours, and no one will notice but me.

Between my sophmore year at the university I accompanied my parents to Taiwan and one night we went to a restaurant in Taipei, which was near where my father was stationed, and it specialized in snake.
I picked out the snake, they cooked it and returned the skin to me and I had shoes made.
They were a beautiful red.....Like gator, snake skin looks great in bags and shoes. Years later when I was in the Navy I wore them to the O club one night and one of the pilots pointed out that I was wearing "Dorothy shoes".......Ever after they made quips about them. I haven't a clue what happened to them.
How was the snake? It was like chicken.
