ithildin: (Holiday - Halloween Fang Pumpkin)
If Halloween is on a Sunday, Mormon kids trick-or-treat on Saturday, but it's possible that the non-Mormon kids will go out on Sunday (and Saturday too, for that matter!), so we need to be prepared for two nights of candy seekers, not being entirely sure how many non-LDS kids are in our neighbourhood. Apparently, a lot of not LDS parents let their kids go out Saturday here, and then go to Mesquite, NV on Sunday for a second round. This should be interesting! And who doesn't like two Halloweens?

There has been a movement to do something similar here, except it's in an effort to work around the Saint's game. :)

(why yes, we are inordinately obsessed with our football, why do you ask? LOL)

Some counties here will be trick-or-treating on Sat and some on Sunday. Where I live we don't get any trick-or-treaters which is sad. Of course, I will be at work this year anyway.

We haz PRs here (Protestant Reformed). Kind of like LDS, but with caffeine. The city has decided that Saturday is the day for Trick or Treat, so there you are.

On another note, earlier this week we had high (50-60 mph) winds that knocked the squirrel's nest out of the big tree next door. Unfortunately the squirrel was in it at the time and fell 50 feet to our driveway. Now our neighbor's cat has one less thing to play with.

Two? How very nice for them. You get a lot of candy seekers?

We're waiting on the weather - it poured all today (when the City had its local business Trick-or-Treat (3--6pm for the rug rats & yard apes). If it's dry tomorrow, we're going out again :-)

A lot of places in the South don't do Halloween on Sunday.

Then again, for folks that don't celebrate Halloween, it just means another day to them. :)

Only got a half dozen Trick or Treeters yesterday. The parents of children visiting from surrounding cities (where they are celebrating Halloween today) parked in front of our house, but did not try our doorbell. Whatever ... more candy for me.
