Maybe Next Election

I haven't really gotten involved politically here since we moved, so haven't formed any relationships yet like I had in California, so Nin and I had our own election night party with a really nice bottle of Zin while we watched election returns (and stayed up way too late!). We had a great time, even if it was just us. I'm going to try and overcome my usual solitary and hermit inclinations though over the next two years and try and get to know people and get more active again. I know I enjoy it once I do, but it's still hard for me to push past the shyness a lot of the time. I'll work on it.

Nuh uh! Remember I told you we almost moved to Oxford a few years back? I would have loved to live in the South, and we made several scouting trips. It just didn't work out :(

Politics are fun! The local stuff can be interesting too (and is typically more useful). Work on the shyness, wallflower! I have been!

I kept an eye on it but it's too intense for me. I vote but watching the coverage is nerve wracking. Actually working a campaign would be too much. I'm glad there are folks like you who are willing to do it. :)

I've thought about volunteering the last couple of years. The hermit stuff is hard to get over, plus I don't think I could do calling people (though that's mostly robo-calls now, isn't it?) Just haven't made myself actually go see what I could do.

Maybe that'll be a New Year's resolution :)

They still do a lot of calling, and a lot of it is done from your own home now. I don't do phones either, but there's helping in the office, sitting at voter reg tables at fairs and such.

Used to do it for the library occasionally at baby product fairs/school things.
