Re the new church bit .. be sure to sign the guest book with someone else's name and address .. unless you really want a visit from the pastor.
We attended a concert (wind, brass, and percussion only) last weekend which was held in a church 30-45 miles away. A niece was one of the clarinets. Various odd Christmas ensembles wrapped around pieces from Bernstein's Mass. (First time I have heard B's Mass live ... though missing the vocalists. I really missed the vocalists on Agnus Dei and Simple Song.)
Anyway, the husband of the pastor is a retired pastor and old friend of ours. The mailing we received was along the lines of ... hey we know we're a long ways away from where you live, but we're here if you need us.
