ithildin: (Forever Knight - Family)
So Amazon has unveiled its streaming movie/tv service, and as a perk of being an Amazon Prime member, you get a bunch of it for free. So last night, I poked around what was available, and I could be watching TV for years! All of (as far as I could tell from random searches) classic Doctor Who, Forever Knight, Highlander, Farscape(!), Yes, Minister and Prime Minister, All Creatures Great and Small, Bonanza, Primeval, Survivors (new), and quite a few other shows I can't recall now. And most of the pay for stuff is fairly reasonable as well. I'm very pleased with my unexpected freebie bonus! Added to the free year of Starz I just got, I'm a happy camper.

In other news, Nin just got Dragonage II a few hours ago, so I shan't see her for the next few weeks. Don't worry, I'll check every so often to make sure she hasn't starved to death.

Ooh, I have a question about the streaming! Do they have a subtitle option? Prime sounds awesome, but Hulu is the only streaming site that offers closed captioning/subtitles that I know of. And I have to admit that I need them. :\

I actually don't know, but there is a lot of info on the service that I didn't get to reading.

Color me jealous. ;) (I wonder if that's green?) Also, I think I have Amazon Prime because I'm a student, so I'll have to look into that... though the last thing I need is something else to distract me. XD Pretty cool!

I took a look at the Amazon stuff. So far, it looks like the same stuff available via NetFlix's streaming option. There could be some differences though. If so, I'll have to see if I can get it set up through my Window Media Center, so I can stream up to my television set. I hate watching stuff on the computer - I get distracted so easily.

[pokes head out]

Hi!

You saw me multiple times the last two days.

Granted, I've played the game 15+ hours since I got the game at about 3pm yesterday... But... Still...

:PPPP I can't starve! I have candy!

fun! I have to get the expansion first and play it before getting II. It's my next thing to get though!

Yep!

If you finish Dragon Age: Orgins & Awakenings, you can use it as backstory for Dragon Age II... Basically, depending on what you chose in those games reflects in DAII... Is awesome.
