Winter BBQ

Nin wants barbequed chicken for her birthday, so I will be braving the elements to cook outside today. Also wants hush puppies and baked beans, neither of which I've made before, so wish me luck. Mum made the pumpkin pie yesterday - Nin wanted that, not cake - so just the dinner to get ready.

I was thinking of asking my BIL do same for our pork tenderloin for Christmas dinner...........
He has a covered patio which would be perfect and the
BBQ has a cover also so..................

Heh - when I want bbq, I just drive for about 30 minutes up to Shelby, NC. Excellent bbq and hush puppies! Had some over T-day.

We have one in a massive building in one of the strip malls that
have unfortunately popped up all over Washington County....

There's a really good place near where I work, but you know me, I don't think it counts as a birthday dinner unless I make it myself :)

We had same thing happen around here with Chili's
They closed their doors and did not even let the employees know
Employees come to work only to find doors padlocked.
Although I had only been two times, I thought that was so shabby of them to not even warn of closure.

So, if I were to go to Dave's what would you recommend?
I have not been to that mall in sometime so not even sure its still there now that you tell me yours is closed.

Ours closed 4 years ago - I'm just still bitter LOL It's hard for those sorts of restaurants to make it here in Utah. They really depend on alcohol sales to keep going, and since half the population here doesn't drink....

I really like the sirloin tips, and the sampler platter is good too.

So what is on the sampler plate?
When I was visiting friends in Memphis they took me to Corky's which was very very disappointing. The food was expen$ive and mediocre IMO.
Disappointed and when I got home she sent me a few bottles of their
BBQ sauce which I gave away
