Fire Update

The fire is 50% contained, and they lifted the evacuations. Two outbuildings, but no homes were destroyed. Cause was man made - there's a surprise - due to burning cheatgrass. Moron. The wind's died down a lot, so that's helping the get a handle on the fire.

Thanks for all the good thoughts! Here's hoping that's the closest fire to us we get this year, and that we get lots of monsoon rains.

I've just caught your posts about this and feel awful for you--that sort of near-disaster is unsettling as hell, yeah. I'm glad things are taking a turn for the better and I hope it's contained before too long.

Yikes! Hope they get it completely under control and you come through unscathed! Seems to be the day for friends escaping disaster - Just got an email (and photo) from Stepdad in Colorado and the fire there came terribly close to his cabin before they contained it!

Thank God. I was so happy when they said yesterday in the news that the wind wasn't that strong anymore and stopped to change its direction all the time (although rain would probably be awesome by now, too).

I'm glad that you and your family are not in immediate danger.
