I was checking the weather on My Yahoo page, and saw you can now have it on your desk top. So I decided to DL the Yahoo Widget Engine, which in addition to letting you have the weather on your desktop, also has 1000s of other widgets. This one might come in handy: LiveJournal Friends Reader...
Finally! A way to check your LJ Friends page without loading it! As of right now, LiveJournal.com only allows you to get the posts of a single user in an RSS request. This Widget provides a way around that, so you can view your friends page. You can even view protected entries that were made viewable to you. Clicking on a subject will take you to that post. Clicking on a user name or community name will take you to the associated profile.
Includes secure login and authentication to access your personal friends page on Live Journal.
I'm going to try it out, and will report back.
