When you look at the script for this ep, you get a glimpse of HOW MUCH the actors created their characters. For example, the only directional cues in the script while Natalie is listening to the show on TV say something like, "Cue on Natalie's reaction." All the long years of frustration, the impatience, the solitude and isolation we see on her face in that two or three seconds is Catherine's doing alone. Nice piece of work, really. She SO deserved that Gemini she didn't get. :P
What on earth does he think he'll find for him to eat?
Nothing, I'm sure. But Vachon is NOSY. This is the guy who can spend five minutes totally absorbed in the construction of a cocktail umbrella. He has a very, very keen eye for details; he doesn't say much, but he observes EVERYTHING. Remember, he never had a master to teach him how to live as a vampire; he learned to survive by paying extremely close attention to everything around him, and it's apparently a habit that stuck with him over the years. How many other vampires do you think could quip text from "The Maltese Falcon" with such ease? ;-)
Another great thing about this ep: It spawned what is one of the very best crossover parody fanfics I've ever read: "My Evil Twin is a Vampire". Dracula and Klaus meet up with Nick and Jerry. It's HYSTERICAL. You can find it here (http://www.fkfanfic.com/fanfic/m/myev1943.txt) if you haven't read it yet.
Not the most cerebral ep of FK ever produced, but still fun! :-)
