One last attempt at getting the truck smogged today, so please keep your fingers and toes crossed that it passes. We're supposed to leave on vacation in the morning, and if it doesn't pass... well, I'll be very unhappy. I really want to go to Memphis!

No, we didn't pass smog, but the mechanic refuses to let us cancel and told us not to worry, it will all be fine and taken care of while we're gone. So for once in my life, I'm just going to live dangerously. He's even picking Nin up in the morning to drop her at the airport to get our rental car.
