My brain is on crack this afternoon. I'm stapling together a massive pile of invoices, so my mind wanders, and most of it is concentrated on plotting 'I Am Going To The West'. Guess who just showed up at Charlotte's winery after taking a cruise up Hwy One to shake out his newest sports car and to visit his favourite vintner? [sighs] Yes, the ever pushy Mr. Stark. I don't think he likes being sidelined and has decided he can work his way into this story! And he really is being ever so cute and charming. Methos isn't happy, and that makes it even funnier.

Now I've shared, back to stapling.

A Few More Highlander Remake Thoughts

On one of the Highlander email lists, I glanced at a few emails on the subject today. There seems to be the sentiment that if only the two sequels had gotten the big budget that the remake's getting, things would have been different. And people seem quite bitter about it. But is that really true? Can you turn a sow's ear into a silk purse? If 'The Source' had had a 55 million dollar budget, it just would have been a more expensive crap movie. In the end, it's the story that makes a movie. If Highlander could grip us with relatively low budget TV episodes, then money isn't the key, IMHO. To my mind, the most hopeful thing about the remake isn't the budget, but that the script is going to be written by people who seem to be able to tell a good story. And a good story is a good story no matter how much money is thrown at it. All the money in the world couldn't have turned 'The Source' into a good movie. Just my good for nothing opinion, of course :)

Basically, it's an outtake, or a detour, of the story I'm currently writing, "I Am Going To The West", which is a Highlander fic. Why did I write this? I wrote it because Tony Stark is annoying and pushy and wouldn't shut up! He was peeved he'd been sidelined in favour of Methos and company, so to get some peace, so I can finish my story, I threw him a cookie. Except he tricked me, and it's gone from short little fic to an epic. Part two is being worked on as you read.

Notes: PG15, Iron Man/Highlander, formerly known as the 'I Have No Idea What This Is' Fic, implied Tony/Pepper.
Summary: Tony looks up an old friend, sure that he has an offer she couldn't possibly refuse.
