[livejournal.com profile] valiha created a beautiful banner for [livejournal.com profile] avengersblend, and I adapted a custom layout, put it all together, and voila! New do! If you have a chance, please go take a look!

I got [livejournal.com profile] ninjababe Dance Central 2 for her Kinect for Xmas, and we decided it would be a good way to get in shape, as I'm totally out of said LOL. We started using it last week, and so far, have been using it at least every other day. I don't have quite enough floor space in my bedroom for both of us to be in the sensor, so we trade off, one of use using the sensor, and the other on the opposite side of the bed, just doing the dance. It's a lot of fun, but boy, do I feel uncoordinated doing some of those dance moves! We're going to get a Zumba game next, which should be fun, since I love Latin music. Next time I go to Vegas, I'm really be busting a move if we go out clubbing again like we did last spring with [livejournal.com profile] strangevisitor7.

So my father is always hogging the TV downstairs in the family room, so mum never gets to watch her DVDs. I had the idea that she could use the 20" TV I used to have in my bedroom when I lived in Monterey, in the living room. This was a bad idea. She has it so loud, I can hear it in my room with the door closed, which means I have to turn my music up louder to drown it out - which is far louder than I like to listen to it. And I can almost guarantee my sound machine won't come near to drowning it out at night, as it barely covers the sound of when she's downstairs watching TV. And to add insult to injury, of course my father is now UPSTAIRS, because far be it for him not to be the center of all when mum finds something to do on her own. GAH!!

I found out back in July that Alasdair Fraser would be playing in Evanston WY (about four hours from us) in March of 2012. I haven't seen Alasdair play since I lived in California, and haven't been to an actual concert of his in longer than I can recall. Now it's closer to the day, I started looking into it, and come to discover it's The Céilí At The Roundhouse Celtic Festival 2012! Woot! So I'm looking even more forward to it now. Keep your fingers crossed that no new emergencies crop up leaving us unable to attend like past planned events.

I hadn't realized that Alasdair had played at the Kennedy Center Honors for Sean Connery, and found it on YouTube here. I've had the pleasure of dancing to his playing on numerous occasions, so seeing this clip was a lot of fun. Stay till the end to see Sean Connery dancing a jig up in his box.
