'Equivocal Coalescence' (01/08)

I'm more than 5000 words into this, so decided to start posting since it's nearing completion. Just not sure how many parts it'll be broken into quite yet - 4, or maybe 5. With Iron Man III fast approaching, I really felt the urge to get this arc wrapped up.

I must have watched the scene in Monaco with Justin Hammer about 15 times to try and get the dialogue right. This is my first attempt writing a story set during a movie, so I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter One

Stark Expo ~ Flushing, New Jersey

"Well that was an entrance," Charlotte Sparrow observed wryly as she walked towards her friend backstage. Tony Stark had just opened the Stark Expo, and a Disneyesque video of his late father, Howard, had just finished. There were people scurrying to and fro, the area a hive of activity. "Phoenix metaphor? Really?"

( He gave her a crooked smile. )
