Smells

There's something about certain scents. I made tomorrow night's dinner, bangers with fried onions, and the house just smells so good. Makes me want to eat it now! Last year, our new upstair's neighbour came down to introduce herself and said she had one complaint: that I made everything smell so good. Apparently, her family would come home and smell my cooking downstairs and think she'd made dinner and then were bummed it wasn't her.

Then the other cheer me up: I joined the wine club I'd been wanting to for the last many years. Looking forward to my fist shipment! Should I do wine tasting LJ posts? LOL!

Finally got to talk to my mum tonight, after nearly two weeks, so that made me feel better too.

I couldn't write tonight, at least not on finishing what I've been writing, I was too twitchie and anxious, but I really hope to get it done by the weekend. One really nice surprise is the sudden burst of feedback I've been getting on ff.net. Was a nice upside to the day.

Watching American Idol, and I now have the urge to watch Don Juan DeMarco!

So, it's back to work tomorrow. Whee!

There's all sorts of wine clubs. This one is one one of my favourite wineries runs. But you have to live in a state that allows out of state alcohol deliveries -- many don't (I live in state, so no worries on that account). Basically, you get two or four bottles four or six times a year.

*blink* there are laws against out of state alcohol deliveries? Surely there's still enough alcohol within any one state for people to get ludicrously drunk if they want to, so why bother? (although I did get glared at by a policeman for carrying a slab of beer in Utah once..)

Can I ask, what are "bangers"? Where I come from that word is usually associated with our troubled youth. And while they may eat victims for lunch, it is not a food reference I know.

Pretty much true, but when it comes to wine, if you want to purchase from a specific winery, and you live in a state that bans you having it mailed to you, you're out of luck. So things like wine clubs you can't join.
