I have no idea if this requires a cut, but just in case...

Cate Blanchett!! Whee! Though this line amused me...

... it is unclear what character Blanchett will play. But sources told the trade paper that the Oscar-winning actress has landed a starring role. (via SciFi Wire)

You think? Hmmm... Duh. Like she's going to be some second string character.

Now, I haven't been thrilled with what George has done with my other favourite franchise, so here's hoping I don't hate this movie as much as the last three Star Wars films. Because then I'd be peeved. But for now, I'm exctied, becasue I love Cate, and couldn't think of anyoone I'd like to see more in the film.

I'm leery already based on rumors that the movie will involve Indiana's...son. Apparently the producer or director or writer or someone involved has never yet done a movie that didn't revolve around a child as a primary character. This does not fill me with hope.

And frankly, I think Harrison Ford is too old for this project. If this is a last hurrah for the original team, fine, whatever. If they want to make more of these, I think it's time to recast the same way the Bond films do.

Finally, I wish could take credit for it but I can't. A friend came up with it. If this film takes place as long after the original films in story time as it does in the real world, that places Indiana smack in the middle of the 60s. So clearly, the title of the film could only be:

INDIANA JONES AND THE SUMMER OF LOVE

that's interesting.........

I've read some odd Indiana Jones IV scripts. I hope it's nothing like them.

I detested the new SW movies. Anakin was such a freaking wimp in all of them. The only tolerable thing in them was Qui Gon and Obi Wan.

I'm just leery on general principle [g] I don't trust them not to ruin it. And yeah, HF hasn't aged well. Be interesting to see if he's up to it. Sean Connery he's not.

well, for me, once Qui Gon left the stage, there was no reason to watch any more. So I didn't. As far as I'm concerned, the franchise starts w/ A New Hope and ends with Return of the Jedi.

As for a new Indiana Jones movie ... ummm... I haven't cared much for Harrison Ford since he took up with the stick figure and got his ear pierced. Sorry.

I was so disappointed. I'd really looked forward to, in an obsessive fangirl sorta way, seeing Annakin become Vader. For years and years! What an incredible letdown.

HF was my favourite actor, not to mention the fave object of my fangirly self back in 1977. I went to every movie he made. Saw Force 10 From Navarone half a dozen times in the theater [g] These days? I think the last movie I saw of his was one of the Jack Ryan ones. But that's okay, I've found others to replace him in my heart [g]

I agree. I'm more of a Qui Gon fan than Obi Wan. To me, Alec Guiness will always bee Obi Wan. I agree with you though, on where it started and ended.

Yeah, that's when he went off the deep end with the midlife crisis or something, I think.

I know. It really was a huge let down. *has Anniekin hate*

Vader was such a Bad Ass, you know?

And these whiny assed people who played pre-Vader? Gah. Wtf?

You know, the idea of a new Indiana Jones movie worries me. I hate to say it, but Harrison Ford is past it when it comes to that kind of action flick.

INDIANA JONES AND THE SUMMER OF LOVE

10/10 on the tea-snorting scale :)

Much fun was had by myself and friends making fun of those movies... Which we still do, even though we only watched them all once. I don't ever want to watch them again.

Granted, there's a scene here and there that I like, but not enough to even skip through the rest of the movies to see them...

Like you, I watched them each once so I could say I've seen them. It was such a let down and I won't watch them unless coerced into it.

I might watch them again... If there was copious amounts of alcohol involved, and a bunch of people of like minds. It would be no fun watching them, and making fun of them, if someone there was taking the movies seriously...

Well, ok, it would be fun in an evil sort of way... :)

I might could watch them and sleep the entire time. LOL
