Now, my take was that the Doctor, being discombobulated from the pending regeneration, didn't realize Jack had been brought back to life by Rose
I'm not entirely sure about that...there was a 5-7 min mini-ep between DW "Parting of the Ways" & "The Christmas Invasion" that was done for a "Children In Need" telethon, immediately after The Doctor regenerates...when it (the regeneration) starts going wrong, Rose says something along the lines of "should we go back and find Jack? He'll know what to do", to which The Doctor responds "Jack's busy! He's got plenty to do, rebuilding the Earth!"...which, actually, kinda irks me more than a bit...I'd always given them the benefit of the doubt, that they didn't realize he'd been brought back to life, and then left him stranded alone on a satelite full of corpses...
And I'm glad you're enjoying Torchwood a bit more now...I've gone totally geek-out fangirl over it...I want a pet Ianto of my very own...
