ithildin: (Japan - Blue Girl)
I've somehow managed to fritter away the afternoon, and part of the evening, without actually accomplishing much of anything. I rock! Really, I do, if you're a slacker. I did talk to my mum, and started to cry when she told me Tuppence is fading away. He's healthy, but she said he has that... well, I'm going to call it an aura, because I don't know what else to call it... aura that our other elderly kitties had when they were in their last months. He's 16, and a Siamese Manx. He's the perpetual kitten, even now. And he's the last of the original group of cats we rescued, and he's my baby. And I probably won't see him again, and now I'm crying again [takes a deep breath]

Okay. Enough of that.

Anyway, I know I promised a new story part today, so I'll open Word now and see about delivering.

Oh, sweetie, I'm so sorry about your cat. That's awful news.

*Hugs* I know the feeling. My Hobbes has kept me on gaurd for a year now, with his three week bout of anorexia and his very recent mystery infection. They are so dear to us.

Want some company while you write? Try the YM thing again.

I am bored silly...

I'm so sorry. I think the pain we feel when they go is our payment for all the love they give us through their lives.

Thank you. Both Wellington and Cider died in the last year, and it's just been hard not being with them. It's been one of the harder parts of my family moving away. I miss my kitties, and then they die without being me being able to say goodbye.

Thanks :)

Maybe a bit later? I still need to get myself some dinner and put clean sheets on the bed since I stripped it this afternoon. If I wait till too late, I'll end up putting sheets on at 1am when I'm pooped [g]

BTW, been meaning to tell you how much I love your icon!!

[nods] I think so too. I love all my little ones, but Tuppy has always held a special place in my heart.

I just went searching for Haida art, which I adore, and found that piece actually [g] Not sure why I never thought of making Haida icons before..

Heee! Another thing we have in common... Do a google search for Sue Coleman, her Haida style art is BEAUTIFUL!

I just made Frog and Sun as Icons heh!

Hey maybe you know... how do you make the background of .gif files transparent?

What program are you using? I use PSP, though I think it should be similar in PS. There's a menu option to make a gif transparent. It's not something I use too often anymore since I'm not doing website graphics.

Thanks for the artist name, I'll have to look!

I'm sorry, lovely. :( It's awful to lose a pet; worse still to miss it. Sixteen years is a wondrously long time to be alive, though, if one is a cat... And I'm willing to bet they've been very good years indeed.

~snug~ I'm sorry.

Oh thanks, and you're welcome too. I finally got an icon of my favourite painting of hers, Moon.

I'm actually going to post the next part of 'Fondly' tonight. Yeah, another story part on a Sat. night! I'm doing the second to last tweak, then up it goes, ready or not!

Thank you. Yeah, he's the little stray that could :) He was so very tiny when we found him. I'm surprised a hawk or an owl didn't get him.

I'm so sorry about the kitty. *hugs* I guess the almost inevitable grief is something we sign on to the day we meet them, you know, like the Universe exacting the payment for the joy.

*hugs* I know what you're talking about re: aura. I've always called it the smell of death ... I guess with my profession it's no wonder I've felt it a lot... and now there's the same thing happening over again in my home. I strongly suspect my eldest is not going to pull out of this one either - she just does not seem to care enough. Well, when it's time to go, it's time to go, I suppose.

Hugs from me too. Losing a pet is very hard.

(We know they love us, even if they are the sort of cat who seldom deigns to acknowledge our existence--except when they're hungry. *g*)

Oh, I'm so sorry. I felt the same way about my brother's dog, who was the last living of the original four dogs from before my father's death. It's so hard to lose them, especially, I think, when you're not there.
