A More Permanent Hell

It seems between every few months gap that I take a break from it, there's a ton more records added and I'm able to get back farther on lines I'd given up on previously. My great great grandparents came from Iowa to California in the 1860s, and from a census, I knew the g grandmother was from Ireland, but I could never find a record of her anywhere. Then, when I paid up again this time around, lo and behold, I found a new record, a census from Iowa with the parents and siblings! I'm hoping something similar happens with her husband, I have found a ships passenger log, so I know when he came from England, and I know where he was from, but have found no records at all in England for him.
