"The Blitz" was just as bad as I remembered it. And I'd totally forgotten about the teddy bear in the swing at the end with the odd music that made you think this had just turned into a slasher flick. (No, not that kind of slasher!) (The knife wielding kind)

I actually really like the flashback part of "The Blitz." I thought Duncan and that woman had some chemistry.

Ann, though, not so much.

Well, I really did like FB Gal's clothes! And the WWII setting was wonderful. I'm a huge fan of the era. "Moonlight Serenade" by Glenn Miller is probably my favourite piece of music ever.

Yeah, it's a great era. I like almost all the WWII flashbacks. Duncan looks great in '40s garb.

I liked "The Blitz". I just wish it had been one complete flashback a la "The Stone of Scone". The B story was far more interesting than the A story. In fact, I wish they'd done several episodes along those lines. It would have made a great change of pace and maybe we wouldn't have had to suffer through "Bless the Child", which was, IMO, truly the only irredeemable episode in the entire series.

I'm with everyone else here. I liked the Blitz. Well I liked the fb from The Blitz. Anne was just stupid. She went down there without any back-up. There was no way in hell she could have saved anyone even if she did find them alive. No equipment - no means to move them - no drugs -

Even though she did have a syringe of Epi I think. Much too little much too late though. *And* she put her unborn child at risk.

I do love that Duncan gave the house to Mary. It made that story -line come together nicely. And the tag scene with him and Richie was really nice.

Yeah, the swing . That was eerie.

When the show first aired, this episode made an impression on me; the death in the flashback was terribly sad, Duncan giving the house to Mary was sweet. I don't hate Ann. I really liked seeing Duncan in that unworkable relationship, shown in a complete arc that ended here. Didn't care much for the birth scene, though.

I didn't hate Ann either. There were parts of the episode I liked, but over all not so much. For some reason, the actress in the FB just grated on my nerves, though I really liked the premise and the setting.

Both HL and Forever Knight are like that for me -- episodes where the flashback back story is way more interesting than the front story. The FK ep "Outside the Lines" with the WWII French Resistance FBs is a prime example.

It was cumulative for me [g]. First we have Anne being stupid, and I didn't even dislike the character. Then the FB actress just grated on me. The end was nice as you said with the house and Richie. But overall, it isn't going on my list of eps to watch again anytime soon :)
